Neutronenreiter – Science Fiction
A series of six loosely connected Hard Science Fiction novels. Four of them are dystopic, the other two are space operas. Three of the stories are listed below as single story.
A vegetable species communicates only through emotions. Colonists are desperately searching for water on a planet without an atmosphere. An unknown modification of water suddenly appears. An old man is thrown back to his youth and a reporter discovers a deeply bizarre story. The author evolves unconventional and imaginative ideas about what our universe could look like and presents them to you in an entertaining and thrilling way. Have fun!
The curse on the other side – Science Fiction
Sheeran lives in a subterranean colony on a small planet. His job is to discover new water resources. This is a great challenge on a surface without an atmosphere. On his almost hopeless search, he ends up on the other side of the world. It’s forbidden to travel there. A sinister mystery has been lurking there for millennia and threatens the existence of the colonists. Is Sheeran strong enough to face the truth? Will mankind be strong enough?
The Prisoner’s Ship – Science Fiction
Ein Raumfrachter transportiert zwei Gefangene mit empathischen Fähigkeiten. Sie müssen etwas Furchtbares getan haben, um hier zu sein. Die Besatzung forscht nach dem Grund des Haftbefehls und trifft statt einer Anklage auf ein Rätsel. Um es zu lösen, müssen sie sich tief in die Denkweise einer fremden, pflanzlichen Spezies versetzen. Zu tief? Gelingt es ihnen, ehe sie ihre Fracht abliefern müssen, oder haben ihre Gefangenen sie nur manipuliert?
ICE XXIX – Hard Science Fiction
A nearly invisible change in the structure of the universe and a nightmare raises for Kain and Elaine. It starts almost imperceptibly but then rapidly develops with the elemental force of an avalanche and puts them down into a maelstrom finally.
Will the world – as we know it – end or is there a future for their romantic love?
Mike Gorden is a German science fiction writer and a self-published author. His main work is the “Moíra Cycle”, whose volumes “The Universe in a Dewdrop”, “The Frozen Big Bang”, “Empath”, “The Secret of the Undead” and “Neutron Rider” have so far been only published in the German language.
This is about to change.
In the beginning, he, and his friends (special thanks to Hayashi Itsuki and Martin Theobald!) have translated a series of six hard science fiction novels which he wrote in the early years of his career. You will find them collected in this volume. They are loosely connected, and their plot is partly dystopian in nature.
The Author has chosen to use British English. We hope that the quality of the translations is sufficient to present Mike Gorden’s unconventional and imaginative ideas about what our universe could look like in an entertaining and thrilling way. Feedback and critique are welcome!
